Commitment to Clients

I work closely with my clients to understand what drives their success and design executive compensation programs that align with their strategy, culture, and leadership goals. My approach centers on clear, actionable guidance that helps boards and executives make sound decisions, build stronger alignment, and create lasting value for their organizations and stakeholders.

Alan Powers is a vice president at Pearl Meyer with more than 17 years of experience advising management teams and boards in the technology and life sciences industries. He specializes in executive compensation strategy, helping organizations design programs that attract and retain top leadership talent while aligning with shareholder interests and evolving governance expectations. Alan is recognized for his analytical rigor, pragmatic insight, and ability to navigate complex compensation decisions with clarity and confidence.

Alan works with companies at every stage of growth, from early-stage ventures to established public corporations. His expertise spans competitive pay benchmarking, incentive plan design, pay-for-performance analysis, equity strategy, peer group development, and Compensation Committee advisory. He helps boards make informed, data-driven decisions that reinforce business strategy, ensure regulatory alignment, and create long-term value.

Before joining Pearl Meyer, Alan was a senior consultant at Compensia, where he advised technology and life sciences companies on IPO readiness and public company transitions. Earlier, he held consulting roles at Aon (Radford) and Towers Watson, following an early career in the high-tech industry as an engineer and operations manager. Alan earned his MBA from Bentley University’s Elkin B. McCallum Graduate School of Business, with concentrations in Economics and Financial Markets and Quantitative Methods for Business Decisions, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Rhode Island College.

At Pearl Meyer, we work with boards and organizations to design and implement compensation and leadership strategies that build great management teams.
