Although the public spotlight is usually shining on C-suite executives' rising pay levels, compensation for some corporate directors is going up as well.
Compensation committee chairs saw retainers rise 29% from 2020 to 2025, according to a new report of 1,400 public companies from compensation consultancy Pearl Meyer and the National Association of Corporate Directors. The increase in pay corresponds to the increase in comp committees' responsibilities, sources told Agenda.
